Dr Michelle Rapley
MBBS FRACGP
I grew up in Northern Tasmania before going to Hobart to study medicine at the University of Tasmania. I graduated in 2003 achieving my MBBS. I was then fortunate enough to do some very interesting remote and indigenous health in Far North Queensland before settling in to the General Practice Training course.
My husband and I returned to Tasmania in 2009 to take on a fine wool farm in the Midlands while I started working at Longford Medical Centre where I completed my General Practice Fellowship (FRACGP) in 2011. I became a partner at the practice shortly after my fellowship. I have been working part-time since 2009 enjoying life in the Tasmanian countryside and growing up our two lovely children.
I enjoy all areas of general practice and have a fondness for rural health needs and farmers health. I am accredited for Q Fever vaccination. I also enjoy teaching our junior doctors including medical students. I have taken on the supervisor role for education of GP trainees within the practice since 2004 and enjoy watching the young GPs gain a great breadth of knowledge and skills.
In my spare time I enjoy spending time on our farm, bushwalking and working in my native garden.

Dr Martin Hamilton
MB ChB FRACGP MMEd
I was born and grew up in Scotland obtaining my medical degree (MB ChB) in 1997 from the University of Edinburgh. I completed my GP training in Fife, Scotland, obtaining a Diploma in Obstetrics and Gynaecology (DRCOG) along the way. I previously worked as a GP for a year in Christchurch, New Zealand and was a partner in a Scottish practice for 10 years before making the moving to Australia.
I took a sabbatical to Australia in 2012 and the rest, as they say, is history. My wife and I and our 3 children very much enjoy living in Tasmania and being part of the community. Having worked at the Longford and Perth surgery since 2013, I became a partner in the practice in 2015.
My special interests are in GP education and training, and I have completed a Masters in Medical Education. I work in GP training as a senior medical educator with RACGP on Mondays and Tuesdays. I enjoy all aspects of general practice and work between the two surgeries on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. I also have an interest in Musculoskeletal problems and have a Diploma in Orthopaedic Medicine.

Adam Torlach
Physiotherapist
Adam completed his Master of Physiotherapy Studies at UQ in 2017 and has worked in Private Practice ever since. He now has the privilege and pleasure of providing physiotherapy services in his own municipality – the Northern Midlands. In his spare time Adam can be found chasing after his four boys, his chickens, his boys carrying his chickens and enjoying Tassie’s treats with family and friends. One health tip? Find something you love…and chase it (you won’t even realise you are exercising).
